Retirement rumors
Several members have reported talking to AG reps on the phone who said that there were rumours around PC that Felicity would soon be totally retired and that other "small sets" (such as nighttime necessities and school lunches) from other dolls' collections would be retired also. The rumor regarding Felicity has been soundly denied by two other reps and a "secret source" of mine who should know much better than reps on the phone. However, the rumor about the other accessories still has not been denied. And it doesn't look like we'll get any warning if more retirements do happen. In December, Josefina's Harvest Outfit and Kirsten's Swedish dirndl sold out, and as of now, AG says they will not be restocked. As usual, there was absolutely no forewarning. My "secret source" assures me that if Mattel doesn't think a historical doll item sells well enough, it will be discontinued.

Society to Begin AG Reading Feature
Society member Sarah purchased some secondhand materials from the American Girls Club, which Pleasant Company had discontinued some years ago. Her idea was to use the new goodies to start a reading feature in the Society newsletter. This month we are featuring Felicity (the first AG for whom there are entries in the club books.) Four books will be featured, one for each week. Every week, I will start an "official" thread on the message board for that book. In the thread, you can discuss the questions and other tidbits from the club books which will be provided on the reading feature page.
Click here to access the first Society Reading Feature Page! A giant thanks to Sarah for the work she put into this.

Kaya items in 2003
There is a rumor that Kaya might get some new items in 2003. So far that's all I have heard about her collection; however, my "secret source" mentioned above did tell me for certain that
Kaya's World will be coming out sometime in 2003.

Further Info about 2003 Short Stories
Sarah also found out some new synopses and information on the 2003 short stories and
Kit's Railway Adventure. Unfortunately, there is nothing further on the still-missing Felicity short story.
