Jess is here!

The Girl of the Year 2006, Jess, is here! She debuted on December 26th, 2005. Her heritage is Irish and Japanese, and she's going to be homeschooled in Belize by her archaeologist parents! Jess's collection includes a Jess doll and book titled Jess; travel accessories that include a canvas shoulder bag, two special letters, her passport, document holder, Belize map and guidebook with actual pictures, a journal, water bottle, butterfly camera, and beloved plush monkey named Toshi; a kayaking outfit and tankini with sunglasses and sunscreen; an inflatable kayak with a paddle and life jacket; tropical print pajamas and slippers; berry beach boots; and a tree swing with a pillow and woven Maya blanket. One of our members writes an AG book

Here's some exciting news--one of our members, Julia Monroe, has authored a book for the American Girl Library! The book is entitled Tiny Treats: Fun Foods to Make and Eat, and it has a publication date of February 2006. Although the picture's color is a bit off, you can see the cover on Barnes & Noble's website. I am very excited to see this book when it comes out! Congratulations, Julia!

AGT Name Change and New Items

The American Girl Today line has gotten a name change--the line is now called "Just Like You Dolls." Some new items in this newly retitled line include a two-in-one ice skating outfit, Coconut's rinkside accessories, a feel-better accessories set including a cast and crutches and more, a sparkle styling kit for the AG horse, a play tower for Licorice, and a turquoise fold up chair. Elizabeth gets a Summer Outfit

Felicity's friend Elizabeth Cole has gotten a new outfit added to her line: a lovely light green colored summer dress complete with a hat and light green slippers. This new outfit is $28. See a picture.

This Issue's Character Feature

After an extended hiatus, the character feature, presenting info from the American Girls Club Handbook, has returned! This time the character feature will highlight Felicity, Josefina, and Kirsten. (The chronologically first American Girl, Kaya, was not yet created when the handbook was published.) Click here to read more about your favorite characters!

Monthly Membership Stats--We Hit 400!

We've hit 400 members! WOW! These last couple of months have seen a bigger increase in membership than usual. Welcome aboard everyone!

Please forgive me if I get several months behind on updating the directory. It comes with being a mom! :-) When you join, however, your email is automatically immediately entered onto the newsletter mailing list, so don't worry about that.
