Girl of the Year 2011 Info

Thanks to American Girl Fans Message Board user Yesterdays_Today, we know a little bit about the Girl of the Year 2011! Her name is Kanani and she's from Hawaii. Her books are written by Lisa Yee. Below are synopses for the two books.

Aloha Kanani
Our Girl of the Year loves living in a beautiful tropical setting and she especially loves sharing the wonders of her island home with visitors. So when her cousin from New York comes to stay for a month, she is excited to get to know her. But no matter what she does to help her cousin feel at home, it only seems to make her unhappy instead. Can our Girl of the Year find a way to connect with her cousin?

Good Job Kanani
Our Girl of the Year is excited about selling shave ice to raise money for a cause she cares about. But she also cares about her best friend-and she promised they would take surfing lessons together. When our Girl of the Year can't make time for her best friend, their friendship begins to unravel, and she finds herself spending summer days alone. Will our Girl of the Year find a way to make things right?

Felicity and Elizabeth are Retiring

In a sad continuation of their current trend, AG has decided that Felicity and Elizabeth will join Samantha, Nellie, and Kirsten in retirement. :( Now it is just a matter of time before their things sell out and they are gone. Farewell, Felicity and Elizabeth!

Might there be an Ana doll?

So far, this tidbit falls in the category of pure speculation, but who knows what it might mean? AG Fans Message Board user craftycarol51 reports that the Fashion Design Portfolios for Molly, Julie, Kit, and Rebecca come with two paper dolls each, and that the paper dolls are actual photos of AG dolls, not illustrations. In Rebecca's portfolio, the second paper doll is Ana. So is the doll they photographed for the paper doll an actual Ana doll that AG plans on producing? Carol states that the doll has the classic face mold, brown eyes, and golden brown hair straighter than Rebecca's but with the same part.

Recent Releases

There have been a number of new recent releases for MyAG, including quite a few winter and holiday items. Highlights include new holiday dresses, a dogsled, a cello, and adorable new baking items. Check out "what's new" on the American Girl website to see everything.
